MacKenzie's first Christmas

MacKenzie's first Christmas
MacKenzie loved opening presents. We had the oportunity to celebrait Christmas twice this year. On the 19th we had supper here at our home with Grandpa Andres, Auntie Kayla, Reena, Lane, Auntie Jen, Uncle Lee, Sam, Josh, Taneeka, and Aayden. It was a great day. MacKenzie got so many cool things. (I don't care who you are, you have to admit shopping for toys is a blast) Then we had another Christmas in Newfoundland, where MacKenzie got to meet her Nanny and Poppy Antle, Uncle Daryl, Auntie Nickie, Auntie Kim, Taylor Jorden, and so many other family members and friends for the very first time. A perfect first Christmas the lil' girl!!!!

Everyday there is something new

I can not believe how fast time flies. MacKenzie is now 8 1/2 months old and everyday there is something new, a new adveture. Today she is pulling herself up onto things and trying to stand up in her crib. She is not full out crawling yet, but she tries out a stide or two here and there. She still does the tummy crawl, and trust me she is quick!!! The animals are not safe anymore. She has her two new teeth that still bother her. They like to take a trip back into the gums now and then, luckly they don't go right back in. She loves to eat!! So far her favorait food is strawberrys and well anything that is sweet. I ried to make her a turkey stew, and she was not too impressed with it, I taisted it and it was good as far as I thought, but she prefures the store bought Hinez food. (I have a complex from this) She loves feeding herself, there for Puffed Rice cerial has become a staple. I started to blow on it to make it fly towards her, she cought on to that a little to quickly, and started to blow on it too...all over the floor.

Scott has been busy busy since we came back from our trip. He tries so hard to get home in time to say good night to his lil' girl, but most of the time misses the opportunity. However, an early night meens an early morning, and they get a short time to spend together before he is out the door once again.

I am keeping pretty busy myself. There was a time in my life that finishing highschool was not a goal, and anyone who told me that going back when you are older is hard, well i was a teenager, i knew everything!! LOL So yes, I am doing it, I am working towards getting my high school diploma. With self disaplin and organization not being a strong point of mine...well, it has it's trial and errors. And no I am not marked on my spelling, so it is never to improve. I as well have been helping my sister Jennifer out with driving her kids from place to place. She runs a day home out of her place and there for is not able to take her children to things like preschool and skating. Don't get me wrong, I love doing these things for her, but i find myself volunteering for things like Pre-Can group organizer...hmmm still not too sure what that is yet, and because I was the one who ended up at that meating Jennifer is signed up to be the dressing room cordinator...not too sure what that is eather butI am sure she'll do a great job. The kids love being in Skating and that is all that matters to me.

Right now at this very moment my lil' MacKenzie is napping, there for I am off and running to enjoy a little quiet time and spinich dip.

Christmas 2009

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! I know it is a little late, but it has taken sometime to get back in the groove of things. Christmas, as it is for most, a very busy time. On the 19th we had a family supper here at my home in Rycroft. All the kids had a great time with cousins and gifts. All i have to say..."Monopoly!" MacKenzie had a great time with everyone here as well. Her and Grandpa got into the chocolate, what a stait!! lol. On the 21st our plain took off to Newfoundland at 1:20pm. A couple hours before we left I had discovered MacKenzie's first and second tooth...that made for a long flight. But we made it, sanity in check (baerly). When we got to where we were going, Bishops falls, things were still in the air as to what was going on. Scott's Mom and Brother were still in the St. John's Hospital. Mom under went open heart surgery on the 21st, and Corey was in an accident wich left him badly burned. We all knew that it wouldn't be possible for Corey to join us this Christmas, but there was rumor of Mom coming home early. By the time we decided that we would go Christmas eve freezing rain was in the forcast. So we stayed in Bishops. On the 26th Mom finally made it home, from there we had a great Christmas dinner and gift opening...once again a great christmas. On the 28th we made it down to see Corey. WOW!!!! Christmas is defenitly a time for miracles!!! The day before we got there he had started breathing on his own and when we were there he was awake and very alert. He had a trake, so he couldn't talk, but he could lip his words and point out as to how well he was doing. He looked 85% better then what I was expecting, wich is wonderful to see!! It was good to see him doing so well!!
While we were east I really wanted Scott's family to be part of something special, because this was the first time for most of them to even have met MacKenzie I desided that we would have her Christened. Scott's cousin Trent is a minister in their faith, and so Scott asked if he would do the hounors. We held the beautiful service in the home that Scott grew up in, there for Mom didn't have to leave the comforts of home. I think it just made everything even that more special. MacKenzie looked so sweet, the dress her GG made her was everthing i imagined and more.
But now we are home....home sweet home. Where the mess i left is still waiting and my school work is here to attack. I really hope everyone had a great Christmas and I wish everyone all the very best for 2010.
